Overview
The aim of this workshop is to provide cancer nurses with the knowledge and skills that can be used to cope with busy and stressful workplace environments
Research
These workshops are being evaluated as part of a larger research program and will be approved by Murdoch Human Research Ethics Committee. Therefore, if you would like to participate you will be asked on the day to sign a consent. Participation will involve attendance for the full day, completion of some questionnaires before the workshop commences, and again at 1 week and 6 weeks after attending the workshop.
Presenters
Professor Anne Williams is leading this workshop in collaboration with experts from Murdoch University, Edith Cowan University, Curtin University, University of Notre Dame and Kings College London. Anne is a nurse researcher with over 25 years’ experience researching healthcare issues within Western Australia. She is the Professor of Health Research in the School of Health Professions at Murdoch University and a Research Consultant for the Centre for Nursing Research at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, the Neurological Council of WA, Solaris Cancer Care, and the Cancer Council of Western Australia.
Anne has an extensive research portfolio in health research, particularly in the area of psychosocial care and in the translation of research to practice. Anne is passionate about improving the wellbeing of nurses and these workshops utilise the latest research and intervention approaches, from understanding the influence of control to the stress response, to more concrete interventions such as mindfulness and even laughter therapy!
